Situated in the heart of Moore County, at the Gilliam-McConnell Airfield in Carthage, you'll discover a beloved Southern BBQ spot. Pik N Pig offers a family-friendly atmosphere, with the BBQ being smoked overnight just like it has been for generations. You can either drive or fly in to pay a visit!
Parking:
This site features a free parking lot of predominantly flat gravel. In addition to the gravel area, there is one designated handicap accessible parking space right at the side of the building. This space is strategically located for easy access to the main entrance and exit.

Entry:
The entrance to Pik N Pig is positioned on the right-hand side of the building, providing easy access for visitors to view the airfield. However, the main entrance features a steeper height ramp, which might pose challenges for individuals with mobility issues. It may be best to utilize the exit on the parking lot side for entry as this has a more gradual incline. Upon entering, guests are greeted by a check-in counter set at a standing chest-level height. The waiting area offers a variety of seating options and open space to wait indoors. Moving further into the restaurant, the interior boasts a spacious layout with a predominantly flat concrete floor. While the flooring is mostly uniform, a few strategically placed non-slip mats enhance safety and prevent accidental slips or falls throughout the dining area, just be cautions of these as you move about within the restaurant.

Seating Options:
The Pik N Pig restaurant provides a versatile dining experience with options for both indoor and outdoor seating. When deciding where to sit, consider the time and day of your visit as it may influence the availability of your preferred spot. Indoors, guests will find tables at a standard height with movable chairs, ensuring easy access for wheelchair users. On the outdoor patio, there is a variety of seating choices including picnic tables and tables with chairs that can be adjusted or removed to accommodate different group sizes or preferences. This flexibility allows diners to choose the setting that best suits their needs and preferences, whether they prefer the cozy ambiance indoors or the fresh air and open space outdoors.

Menu Highlights:
It would be next to impossible to go wrong with anything on the menu here! The full smoked meats and sides ensures there is something to satisfy every craving. One standout dish is the baked sweet potato, which can be enhanced with an optional brown sugar and cinnamon topping for a delightful blend of sweet and savory flavors. The potato salad and green beans are also highly recommended choices that perfectly complement any of the smoked options.
For a unique twist, consider adding the Jalapeno Butter to the hushpuppies. This flavorful topping adds a delicious kick without being overly spicy, elevating hushpuppies with a unique twist. The combination of the rich, buttery flavor with the subtle heat of jalapeno creates a perfect balance that will leave your taste buds wanting more. Overall, the menu offers a delightful array of options that are sure to please even the most discerning palate.
We also enjoyed the Pie Pan Nachos, served in a real pie pan with house-made chips and garnished with Pic N Pig slaw! (Served without the slaw on top as per our table's preference)

Make sure to save some space for dessert because the homemade sweet choices are equally delicious as the smoked BBQ! We especially enjoyed the chocolate pie and the classic Southern dessert, banana pudding!

Don't forget to check the board for daily specials and daily desserts!
