Located in a historic building in the heart of downtown Asheboro, you will find The Table, a delightful establishment that captures the essence of the town's rich heritage. As you meander up to the building, you will begin to take in the amazing charm of this location, which is steeped in history and character. The exterior of the building features beautifully preserved architectural details that tell stories of the past, with its inviting and warm colors beckoning passersby to step inside. Just the building alone is enough to draw you in, with its rustic charm that evoke a sense of nostalgia.

Swing by and see how well-loved this Asheboro staple is, usually with a line out the door!

Parking:

Access to the table is through on-street parking, in addition to a parking lot located directly across the street. The parking across the street is located at the Asheboro Farmers Market and may be limited at times, with overflow parking in a gravel lot in the next block. Handicap Accessible spots are located in the Downtown Farmers Market Parking area with a labeled crosswalk. Although there is a crosswalk, please proceed with caution as there is no pedestrian light and cars may NOT stop!

Entry:

The main entrance to The Table involves ascending five brick steps with handrails. There is also a ramp available on the building's right side, leading to a door closer to the ordering counter. During peak times, using the ramp entrance might require navigating back through the line toward the front door. Inside, you can find menus to the left of the door, on the right-hand wall, and at the ordering counter. As you approach the counter, you'll be greeted by a lovely display of pastries and treats. Please note that the ordering counter is relatively high and might not be suitable for everyone. Currently, The Table offers verbal ordering either by phone or at the counter.

Seating:

After placing your order, feel free to choose any table you'd like! The Table offers indoor, outdoor, and an enclosed outdoor dining area, ensuring there's "always a seat for one more". Inside, there's a large table with removable chairs, several tables of similar height, and counter seating at the front of the restaurant. The outdoor area includes smaller tables and high tops, some with removable chairs if necessary.

Restroom Facilities:

Keep in mind, this building was originally built in the 1920's, the hallway to the restroom is on the smaller side and may leave room for only one person to pass at a time. In addition to the narrow hallway, the doors to the restrooms are on the narrow side and may not accommodate all mobility devices. Once inside, the restrooms do have grab bars for assistance.

Menu Highlights:

The Table primarily functions as a breakfast and lunch spot, with coffee and dessert available after 2:30 PM. In the morning, try the Grits and Greens, a delightful twist on the southern classic. For lunch, we highly recommend the Table Salad for a quick meal, we opted to take ours to-go to enjoy the lovely day! When it comes to pastries and desserts, you can't go wrong—choose your favorite, and we're confident you'll be satisfied! The Espresso bar is just as impressive as the food, offering a variety of house-made syrups to enhance your drink!

Key Features for Accessibility:

  • Limited on-street parking of handicap accessible parking spaces located in lot across the street.

  • Ramp located on right-hand side of building.

  • Friendly and helpful staff!

Important Notes on Accessibility:

  • Please note, this is a historic building, built in 1925! While accessible, some features may be more difficult to navigate than others.

  • Crosswalk from Farmers Market Parking across the street does not have a Pedestrian Crossing Signal. Please utilize caution as drivers may not stop!

  • Stairs lead up to the front door from street level, utilizing the ramp on the righthand side of the building may provide an easier access point.

  • Hallways and restrooms are narrow and may not provide enough room for all mobility devices.
