Why Accessible Foodie?

During my Doctor of Physical Therapy program's Terminal Clinical Experience, a patient shared with me that due to limited mobility they never to go to a restaurant for the first time with their family. They explained that they always send their wife or daughter to check out a new place first to ensure it is wheelchair-accessible and will be enjoyable for everyone. This recurring scenario with patients inspired me to create a platform where restaurants' accessibility is evaluated from a Physical Therapist's perspective, allowing everyone to enjoy the experience of dining out for the first time. While this approach may not address every obstacle, every attempt has been made to emphasize the features that make these restaurants accessible to all.

Our goal is to offer precise, comprehensive details on local restaurants and showcase the accessibility features they provide. Whether it's parking convenience, ordering process, or restroom facilities, we aim to include all aspects of the restaurant experience. While we understand we may not cover every detail, we trust that this resource will make your visits to new establishments more enjoyable by providing realistic expectations.
